Formal statement of appreciation to Fr. Cataldo, signed by 107 white residents of the Palouse region, for his efforts to assure the neutrality of other Tribes during the Nez Perce War of 1877. The Coeur d'Alenes in particular are thanked as well for their non-involvement.
